With England getting so much rain recently, we too in Chiang Mai have been having our fair share.
Last weekend saw a lot of rain arriving in the region - typical monsoon. But sufficient to cause problems, as reported in the press - two dead, with more severe rain on the way.
Then on Wednesday, we had a fantastic thunderstorm...and lots and lots of rain...

Unfortunately is fell right when I was meant to be taking our basketball team's coaching session - the main coach was unfortunately away, so it was going to be down to me. With the heavy rain, it flooded our the basketball courts and gym...so cancelled. I was actually sad, as I had studied for it...

Then last night, Thursday, or more like early hours of Friday morning...more rain...
PocketWeather captured these weather images during the night (I leave my trusty Dell X5 device running all the time with PocketWeather recording images)...

This was just prior to the rain arriving from the South East. That pink bit is the Chiang Mai province, which is bigger than the county of West Sussex - that is in the UK. PocketWeather was unable to get the next image, as our Internet cut out.
But it did also get these other images once the internet came back on...

World Ocean surface temperatures
With this last image, I have had PocketWeather record these images since the beginning of the weather. Once I get a years worth, will try and generate an animation so you can see the interesting change in ocean temperatures throughout the year.
Meanwhile, the rain has stopped, the flooding has gone down, therefore school is not cancelled (to the disappointment of the children...)
