I have read about this over the years...people extending the normal limit of WIFI (wireless internet) from a 50m up to several 10's of Kilometres...but I have not seen it in action myself...until last week...

Without the wok, with the WIFI AP in the building just behind where the image below was taken, the building in the image in the far distance to the right of the road/drive-way was registering zero WIFI signal strength. With the wok, 2 out of 4 bars...

During a previous visits to our friends in MaeSai, while discussing setting up their computer network and infrastructure, the initial though was to purchase a WIFI repeater to enable better site coverage. However this would cost money. So I remembered about the old "wok" trick (along with the "Pringle's" can).

So when it came to them setting up their network, off they went to the kitchen to borrow the wok (sorry kids - no hot food today...), and guess what?! It worked!
