Following a nearly 7 hour flight from London Gatwick to Dubai on Emirates, we arrived in Dubai faced with an 8 hour stopover...what joy.

Sleeping

The family somehow found the cold marble floor surprisingly comfortable, while I found it predictably hard and cold. So while they are all sleeping happily, I am awake...

Four hours go...another 4 hours to go...

There are a number of more comfortable sleeping chairs - the minor problem is that they are all full on inconsiderate tourists sleeping in them - trying to find five near eat other is impossible. Fortunately we did find a quiet corner of the new departure terminal where the cold hard marble was reportedly "soft". The seats are particularly nice, except they ALL have arm rests, obviously designed to stop inconsiderate tourists from taking up 3 to sleep on...how inconsiderate....

Interestingly, despite the free (and reasonably fast) internet access, it appears that access to Flickr is blocked in Dubai..one of the possible reasons being "Internet Content for Learning Criminal Skills"...

Clock watching

Good - that took up 20 minutes...what else...
