The Olivers In Thailand

It was great to have our good friend Julia to visit us in Thailand for two weeks:

Julia did lots of market shopping and in particular bought some beautiful bags (early Christmas shopping)! We went to the elephant camp and had a precarious ride on an elephant! We walked up the 10 stages of the Maisa waterfall. It was a very hot day and we had no bathers and so Julia went in under the waterfall in her clothes. We enjoyed a stroll around the Night Safari and saw many unusual animals.

We spent a relaxing overnight at the Mae Ngat dam houseboats:

On the way back we stopped at the lime-rock falls:

We went for a visit to the Hope for Life centre in Mae Sai and did a craft activity with the children. We stayed overnight at our favourite little resort. We wnet up to a high view point where you can see over the border into Myanmar. We were aware of trouble that could be brewing on the other side. We shopped for T-shirts and Julia bought a traditional Thai tringle cushion at the Mae Sai market.

We drove up the mountain to Hoay Maw. We showed Julia around and did a craft activity with the children from the home and the village children as well. There weren't enough scissors!

We loved having Julia and look forward to next time!
