Today we managed to get on the road at 8:20. We said merci beaucoup and au revoir to oue host Mmme Bernadette.
Another cool morning but appreciated as we knew the heat would be coming soon!
I had used Voltorol gel on my back and taken paracetamol, and thankfully, although still tender, the sharp pain did not return.
We made good progress riding together as the elevation was modest.
Riding through shaded lanes was pleaseant.
By late morning it was getting hot. We weren’t meeting out support vehicle today and so we were pleased to find a lovely French cafe for lunch in Chateau Larcher. Carrots and goat’s cheese sounded unusual but tasted great, followed by Tarte Almande, and I indulged in a single scoop of salted caramel ice cream on my tarte!
It got hotter as the day progressed. We passed sunflower fields, and wind turbines.
Airplane contrails streaked the clear blue sky.
As we arrived in our destination town of L’Isle St Jourdain, we were rewarded with a spectacular view of the viaduct.
We hung out the days washing!
I cooked pasta for our supper!
