Today’s ride was less bumpy than previous day and it was a pleasure to meander through the vineyards seeing the straight rows of vines.
More fields of sunflowers including some with really big heads!
We passed a road closed sign to make a steep climb up to the top of the town of Brisac Quince where a lovely market was being held.

It was lovely to ride along the banks of the Loire. Some parts of the river were full but many parts were suffering drought.
We stopped for lunch in Gennes were we enjoyed our picnic.
Jo had managed to find a laundomat and kindly washed our clothes.
Our accommodation in Fontenvraud is old and charming in the old town.
Chez mimie les hôtes, Fontevraud-l’Abbaye (updated prices 2026)

It was Soo’s birthday so we enjoyed a lovely meal out nearby!
