After allowing some months to evaluate whether the Supraglottoplasty had resolved the breathing issues on exercise, I was able to return to Professor Hull at the Royal Brompton for a repeat Continuous Laryngoscopy during Exercise test.
This time I did the test on the tread mill as running is more likely to bring on the effect.
The video showed stability of the arytenoids (now that the floppy prolapsed arytenoid had been trimmed back), but ongoing glottic-level Exercise Induced Laryngeal Obstruction (EILO).
I was told that there was no further surgical recourse to be had and that we now need to focus on breathing control exercises to try and modulate airflow in the upper airway.
I was then referred to the respiratory physiotherapy team.
