In September I will be part of a group of 5 intrepid ladies, cycling 1000 miles across France from St Malo to Nice!
At the end of this epic journey, I will be continuing to Pontevedra in Spain where I will take part in the Age Group World Championship Standard Aquabike (1.5km swim, 40km cycle).
I have been receiving treatment for thyroid cancer since 2021, and recently discovered that I will need a further round of radioiodine treatment to deal with a slight recurrence.
I have been so grateful for all the support I have received throughout my treatment, and I wanted to take the opportunity to highlight and support two amazing local charities: Cancer United and Sussex Cancer Fund.
Both these charities have a big impact and both advocate and provide opportunities for supervised exercise for cancer patients, on the ward and in the community, during treatment and recovery and beyond.
Exercise is something that I, and many have found to be so beneficial for physical and mental wellbeing during the cancer journey.
